Proven Coach or Seasoned Vet?

When choosing the incumbent Head Coach for their team, NBA General Manager’s go through a thorough evaluation of all candidates. Typically, these candidates consist of: Ex-Head Coaches, current Assistant Coaches as well as retired players who had a high basketball IQ.

Whatever the decision, it’s typically a toss-up and has a lot to do with the roster a team has assembled. We firmly believe that these days roster make-up has everything to do with the success and the coach will simply act as a liaise between the playbook and the referees. What are your thoughts? What current or past coaches do you think have succeeded or failed?
