Game 1 Review: Thunder vs Nuggets

In a game that saw almost all of The Oklahoma City Thunder’s points scored by 2 men, OKC came out with a close but very contested 107-103 game.

Kevin Durant went for 41 points and Russell Westbrook 31 as the Thunder dynamic duo led the charge form Oklahoma’s mside of the ball.  As for Denver, 5 players scored in double digits incluindg Nene with his team high 22 points.

In a strange and controversial end to the game, supposed Defensive savior Kendrick Perkins tipped in a Westbrook “miss” which the Nuggets players all felt was basket interference, yet the play stood and turned out to be the turning point as the Nuggets never held the lead again.

In this battle of 4th seed vs 5th seed we expected to see a close game and this game did not disappoint.  All of the members from the Knicks who came over in the Melo trade played significant minutes and helped keep this game close.

If game 1 is any indication of what is in store, look for this series to go down to the wire as these two teams hatred for each other just reached another level as the questionable basket will only fuel any fire that burns in Denver.
