Known for his 6’8 close to 300 pound frame, Robert “Tractor” Traylor played in the NBA for 5 teams. Drafted 6th overall by The Dallas Mavericks, Traylor never played up to his potential. With career averages of 4.8 ppg and 3.7 rpg, Traylor bounced around from Milwaukee, Cleveland, Charlotte, New Orleans and back to Cleveland. He eventually made his way overseas to play ball and up until recently where he was playing for the Vaqueros de Bayamón in Puerto Rico’s BSN League.
According to The Washington Post, Traylor died at home of an apparent heart attack in Puerto Rico. Traylor will forever be known as the player that was traded along with pat Garrity to the Milwaukee Bucks for the rights to the 9th overall pick who ended up being…Dirk Nowitzki.
Rest in Peace our friend.
