Round 2, Game 6 Recap: Oklahoma v Memphis

Memphis will not go down with a fight!! After a energy sapping, four hour, 3 overtime match in Game 4, Memphis arrived at Thunder deflated and had no run. But in Game 6 today, they regained that energy and were able to knock off Thunder and stay in the series for another match, which will be the decider of who will advance to play the fresh Mavericks as they swept Lakers.

Thunder in the first half led by Westbrook, looked ready to electrify the Grizzlies and led 57-41 late in the second quarter. But the Grizzlies with the biggest weapon, which is their ability to have big rallies as we’ve seen a few times in the playoffs, found their roar and hit the lead with a three point play by Mayo to make it 68-65. Oklahoma were outscored 28-14 in the third term.

Zach Randolph, regardless of being the targeted man, continues to carry Memphis in their extraordinary record breaking playoff run (Most wins by an 8th seeded team and franchise best) Zach scored 30 points and 13 rebounds with 11 of those points coming in the last quarter!

The most amazing stat of the night was Durant was held to a post season low 11 points on an 3-14 shooting night. Maybe Westbrook needs to start working with Durant more often as Westbrook seems to be trying to take control of the game too much leaving Durant wondering when he is going to receive the ball. What ever it is, Oklahoma needs to work it out if they are to win the last game of the series.

Expect both teams to bring a high energetic game in Game 7 @Oklahoma and whoever plays better on the day will simply win!
