Another NBA Player Signs in Europe

After news broke that New Jersey Nets star Point Guard Deron Williams had reportedly signed a contract with an “opt-out clause” to play in Turkey, many assumed it would open the floodgates of NBA Players signing in Europe.  The exodus hasn’t begun quite yet, but another player has signed overseas.  According to ESPN.com, Toronto Raptors Small Forward Sonny Weems has reportedly signed a 1-year contract to play for Lithuanian ball club Zalgiris Kaunas, and it does not include an opt-out clause.  Meaning, if the season were to resume he would be required to stay, because he is a Restricted Free Agent and not officially signed to any NBA team.
