Antawn Jamison…A Cavalier for life?

Antawn Jamison as arguably been Cleveland’s best player this season and to be perfectly honest, the past few seasons.  He has been their leading scorer, close to being their leading rebounder.

He is a seasoned veteran that has been through it all.  Well, almost all.  He has done it all, except for winning a Championship.   He is a lottery draft selection back in 1998 when the Toronto Raptors selected him 4th overall and then traded his draft rights to the Golden State Warriors for Vince Carter (his cousin).

He has been an All-Star, 6th man of the year and has career averages of 19.7 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game.  These are numbers of someone who just might be considered to be a Hall of Fame candidate once he decides to hang up his sneakers.

But now, word has come out of Cleveland that the Cavaliers are possibly interested in bringing back the 17 year veteran for a little while longer.  Not only is Jamison leading the team once again this season, but he has become quite the mentor for the young Cavalier squad.  With Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson having good 1st years in the league, Jamison has been looked upon to teach these two youngsters “the ropes”, if you will.  With his leadership never question, it seems like a good spot for Jamison for the next couple seasons.

With his career close to coming to an end, and his hopes of winning a Title fading, it seems quite fitting that Jamison sign up for 1 or 2 more seasons, come off the bench and help grow a Franchise that has been extremely loyal to him and who has given him and his family a home for so long.
