World Peace he is not, his name is Ron Artest

Ron Artest, on the upcoming Western Conference semifinal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, as to whether he has offered an apology to James Harden said, “I don’t shake substitutions’ hands.”, “He doesn’t start.” In his usual crass, low-class manner, Artest has finally shed the ‘Metta World Peace honeymoon tour’ and comeback to his true nature by referring to Harden this way. Artest is being hailed as a conquering hero saving the Lakers from a first-round defeat against the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of the opening round. Many sports outlets have stated that his play gave the Lakers toughness that they were lacking in Games 5 & 6. Artest is soaking in the glory and is ‘milking it’ for every drop.┬áNever mind┬áhe had just come off a seven game suspension which was a factor leading to the Lakers needing a final deciding Game to advance.

But winning a deciding opening round game is probably as much glory as the Lakers and Artest will get this season. Laker fans were booing the effort by the team in home games they lost and Magic Johnson publicly called for Mike Brown to resign if the Lakers lost the opening series. Now, the Lakers will be facing a very determined Thunder squad that eliminated the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks in very immediate fashion. The Thunder have the edge versus the Lakers with their starters, bench and key players. Artest will be around for the whole series this time unless his personality implodes again. Pau Gasol will need more time with Lakers assistant coaches to prove his toughness on the ‘low block’. Kobe Bryant again is their only saving grace which won’t be enough. The Thunder will advance in five games.
